COOLANT CONCENTRATE SI-OAT

New generation concentrated engine antifreeze based on monoethylene glycol (SI-OAT).

SKU: COOLANT CONCENTRATE SI-OAT Category: Tag:
Description

Concentrated engine antifreeze based on monoethylene glycol.. This product uses the latest antifreeze technology that combines the benefits of both organic and traditional silicate technology.

Carefully selected additives provide the following properties in aqueous mixtures:

  • Increased service life, allowing less frequent maintenance, thanks to corrosion inhibitors that have a very low depletion rate.
  • Thermal characteristics that allow effective engine cooling without boiling.
  • Removal of abrasive solids, which provides better protection for water pump joints.
  • Environmentally friendly as free of borates, phosphates, nitrites and amines.
  • Frost protection, depending on the selected concentration.
  • Excellent foaming characteristics.
  • Meets most European and international standards.

WEG Coolant Concentrate SI-OAT is an extended life antifreeze that should be replaced every five years or every 250,000 km for passenger cars or every 1,000,000 km for trucks and commercial vehicles. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) recommendations should be followed when changing cooling systems.

Compatibility

This coolant is formulated to handle all water qualities and is compatible with hard water, however the use of deionized or softened water is recommended. WEG Coolant Concentrate SI-OAT is easily miscible with all engine coolants, but we recommend that organic additives not be mixed with traditional inorganic technology coolants, as optimum performance and longevity can only be ensured by using WEG Coolant Concentrate SI-OAT exclusively.

In order to ensure a satisfactory level of corrosion protection, it is recommended to use at least 33% (1:2) volume of WEG Coolant Concentrate SI-OAT in the coolant solution. According to most car manufacturers, a 50% (1:1) volume solution is recommended for optimum performance. For cold climates use 67% volume (2:1), concentrations above 67% are not recommended and do not provide an advantage.

Corrosion Protection

Corrosion protection is the most important function of a coolant concentrate and is achieved by using a well-balanced inhibitor selection. In modern engines with greater use of aluminum alloys and thinner castings, avoiding corrosion problems is critical. The inhibitor package of WEG Coolant Concentrate SI-OAT is the result of very extensive testing including laboratory tests, service test simulations, static engine tests and field tests. It actually also successfully passes the FVV Heft R443 / 1986 test.
